As you guys know, last week we returned from a wedding in West Palm Beach, Florida! You’ve heard me gushing about it on Instagram and in this blog post–but it was truly what dreams are made of. There wasn’t one element that wasn’t Pinterest worthy!
Knowing the awesome couple, I had an inkling it might be one of the coolest weddings I’d ever been to, so of course, I had to find the perfect dress! Because I don’t ever like wearing the same dress to multiple weddings, I typically do Rent the Runway for weddings and other formal occasions. I stopped into their showroom in River North a few days before the wedding, and instantly fell in love with this little scalloped number!
The wedding was “black tie optional” which is often the hardest type of attire to dress for, because you don’t know if more people are going to go the “black tie” route or the “optional”route–you don’t want to show up in a gown if everyone else is wearing cocktail dresses! That’s why I love this dress–paired with the right shoes and earrings, it was the perfect combination.
I typically never wear anything this revealing, but because of the scallops, light pastel color, and girly silhouette, it was more sweet than scandalous. I also picked up a clutch, earrings, and a bracelet while I was at it–it was really easy to get everything in one place.
We snapped these in the courtyard of the reception venue right before the ceremony. (Neal is such a good sport.) Little did we know the groomsmen were watching through the glass door 😛
This weekend, I’m off to Nantucket to meet Kelly and her family there for a few days! I’ve hardly been anywhere on the East coast, so I have no idea what to expect! I’ve heard Nantucket is one of the cutest places on earth, so I can’t wait for what’s in store. (I feel like maybe I need to buy more preppy clothing for the occasion??)
I’ll be flying there tomorrow, returning on Wednesday, and then it’s off to the lake house for Memorial Day weekend two days later!
Hope you have an amazing weekend, and be sure to follow along on Instagram and Snapchat (jesskeys11) to keep up with our Nantucket adventures!
