White jeans are perhaps one of my favorite wardrobe staples of all time–especially when it the weather warms up! (Although, I highly encourage white jeans all year round–I figure, there are no rules when it comes to the weather in Chicago–it snows in April and we can get 60 degree days in January, so why should I limit myself to seasonal style rules? ?)
White jeans are insanely versatile, can be dressed up easily, and even made business casual. Sometimes, they’re just what you need to breathe some new life into your regular outfit rotation.
Today, we’re going to go through a TON of ways to wear white jeans no matter what season it is!

How to wear white jeans–Finding a Flattering Fit:
Are white jeans flattering?
This is a question that I get so often. While it’s true that it is harder to find a flattering pair of white jeans than it is a pair of dark jeans, when you find the right fit, they absolutely ARE flattering. Here are my tips to finding the perfect pair of white jeans:
Look for a high waisted pair:
If you haven’t gotten on board with the high-waisted trend yet, you should! High-waisted pants make your legs look INFINITELY longer. Think about it, they add several inches of what appears to be “leg” to the eye, and also hit at the slimmest point of your waist. On the flipside, mid-rise and low-rise jeans hit you at your widest point–your hips–which essentially makes them look wider than they actually are! (By the way, see my post: “How to make your legs look longer” for more tips!)
Look for a pair with a bit of stretch:
You’ll want a pair of jeans with a nice bit of give to them, so they’re always hugging your curves in the right places, rather than bagging out in certain spots–that’s never flattering! Look for a cotton blend with 2% elastane.
Try a cropped straight leg pair OR a skinny pair.
Cropped straight legs are really popular right now and I cannot get enough of them! You want to make sure they’re cut a few inches above the ankle–if they’re too long, they can make your legs look awkward and stumpy!
I also love a classic pair of high-waisted skinny jeans–these are the two pairs that I own and wear constantly on repeat:
My Favorite Pairs of White Jeans:
Madewell High Waisted Skinny Jeans: These really truly are the best white skinnies I’ve found. They aren’t remotely see through–seriously, you can wear them even with black underwear with ZERO show-through! They’re insanely soft, comfy, and have a great amount of stretch to them so they’re always hugging you in the right places.
Everlane Kick Crop Jeans: I absolutely love the way these jeans are cut–everyone I know who has them loves them, but heads up–they do stretch out so I would recommend sizing down.
Other Reader Favorite White Jeans:
Awhile ago on Instagram stories, I asked you guys what YOUR favorite white jeans are–you actually convinced me to purchase the Madewell ones (thank you!!) but there were a few other top contenders as well. You guys said these brands also had the perfect amount of stretch, flattering fit, and no show-through!
J.Crew’s High Rise Toothpick Jeans and J.Crew Factory’s White Skinny Jeans: These were some of the most popular reader recommended jeans, right behind Madewell’s! J.Crew Factory’s win the best price point award!
Vineyard Vine’s white jeans: Several readers recommended Vineyard Vines jeans! They have a nude back pocket lining to ensure zero show through, and have a lot of stretch! They also come in a raw step hem which I really love!
J.Brand Maria’s: Quite a few girls said they love their J.Brand Maria high-waisted jeans! I can also echo this, I love J.Brand Maria jeans and their dark skinnies are one of my favorite pairs. I also went through a brief stint owning a pair of white ones but then I ruined them ? RIP. They were great while they lasted though!
White Jeans Outfit Ideas:
White jeans with espadrilles:
This is a great springy/summery outfit for brunch or a date night out! I love that these espadrilles have a platform (if you’re looking to add some height without sacrificing your feet, these are definitely a must!) I will admit that walking in them takes a minute to get used to, but you’ll absolutely love them! A fun statement earring is an easy way to add fun pop of color if you’re feeling too basic–I love these blue ones from Baublebar!
White jeans with oxfords and a wrap sweater:
This is a perfect “in between season” outfit that would be ideal for spring and fall–it’s bright and cheerful, but also warm, too! I’ve been seeing wrap-front tops everywhere this season, and they’re super flattering on so many different body types because of their v neckline! These Everlane oxfords are one of my favorite pairs–I love the modern lines and slightly pointed toe make them less preppy and more fashion-forward than other oxfords.
White jeans with stripes:
You know me, I love ANYTHING paired with a stripe, especially white jeans! These bow mules are so comfortable and add the cutest little feminine twist while still being very casual! They come in lot’s of colors too–Nordstrom actually carries several similar styles!
Business Casual with a Twist:
You guys saw this post not too far back–I love this look because it bridges the gap between casual and business casual. If you work in a casual office environment but still want to look professional, this is a great outfit! It’s also perfect for in-between-season weather because the closed toes and trench coat keep you warm! By the way, this is my favorite trench coat of all time and you can see more info about it and several other ways to style at trench coat in this post!
White jeans + gingham:
White jeans and gingham tops go together like peanut butter and jelly! They are the cutest combination with a preppy twist! Add a straw hat and a fun statement bag to pull everything together!
White on White with Polka Dots:
Often times, I feel like people are afraid to wear white on white, but I think it looks so fresh and crisp–it’s one of my favorite ways to wear white jeans! Adding a neutral sandal makes your legs look super long, too!
White Jeans with Florals
I ADORE white jeans with florals–it’s really such a no-brainer combination that I often gravitate toward. For a girly yet polished look, go for a sandal in the same hue as your top to really pull the outfit together!
White Jeans Winter Outfit:
Who says you can’t wear white jeans in winter? I love them in the colder months because they’re such a nice break from all the dark pants we’re constantly wearing! They look so beautiful and crisp with red, white, and camel!
White jeans with Over The Knee Boots:
Another winter white jeans outfit–simply swapping your favorite dark jeans for a pair of white jeans with a springy top will allow you to look and feel a little springy while still staying warm with the addition of some neutral hued over the knee boots!
Rainy Day Outfit:
White jeans are an easy way to brighten up even the gloomiest day! I love mine paired with rain boots and my trusty Barbour Beadnell coat.
Denim on Denim:
Chambray and denim is always a classic combination–if you’re typically a little wary of the “Canadian tuxedo” look, pulling it off with white jeans is always more palatable! I love a chambray ruffle top especially!
White on White:
I’m obsessed with cap-toe heels! They are Chanel look-a-likes at a price your wallet can actually afford 😉 This is another example of my love for pairing white on white, with a silk button down and chunky knit sweater over the top–who says you can’t wear white after Labor Day!? This look is perfect for a nice October day.
Pastel Top and Nude Heels:
I WISH they made these nude sandals again this year (you can still find them in a few sizes though!)–they are my absolute favorites–but any nude heels will make your legs look several inches longer–they’re always a great pair for white jeans! They look great with a fun, springy top!
Trench Coat and Mules:
Another look with my trusty trench coat! This look could easily be made more dressy for the office by swapping out the mules for a pair of pumps (I’d probably go with nude! I love these by Sam Edelman!)
With a Striped Button Down and Polished Sandals:
The same red and blue striped button-down you saw above, but made summery with polished ruffled slides and a casual leather jacket! (This look would look just as cute with a denim jacket as well!)
Black and White:
More stripes! (Are you surprised?!) To brighten up a regular old wintery look, pair white jeans with neutral booties, a striped turtleneck, and a scarf!
Which one is your favorite look? Do you have a favorite way to wear white jeans?
I LOVE every single look in this post. I need your wardrobe ?
You’re gorgeous, Jess!
White jeans and pastels are my favorite! I also like to wear them with a silk cami, and maybe a silky scarf. Here’s to white before Memorial Day! xAllie http://www.theallthatglittersblog.com
I’m also obsessed with stripes! I think I need an intervention. Just got white jeans for this year & am looking forward to trying lots of different looks with them.
This post was so inspiring! I feel like I need to start styling my white jeans so many more ways now!
