Bag: Vera Bradley (c/o) (a new edition to their awesome leather collection!) // Button down: Ralph Lauren // Leggings: American Apparel // Shoes: Piperlime (Similar) (PS Piperlime has some awesome sale stuff right now) // Coat: BB Dakota (borrowed from my roommate) (similar)
Today’s special: style with a side of comedic relief–I present to you, a very wind-filled outfit post. I was trying to go for “streets of Paris” but ended up being more “hurricane chic.” (Scroll down, you’ll see what I mean.) #Fail
I recently made a trip to the outlet malls near Neal’s family’s lake house and found myself a great deal on this white button down. I’ve been wanting a crisp, white, oversized oxford for awhile now, but it was a bit of a goldie locks situation. The women’s shirts were too slim fitting (not the oversized boyfriend look I was going for), then the mens’ were just, well, expensive. But the little boy’s version? Justttt right!
I landed myself a size 20 little boy’s oxford for the whopping price of $25. And I’ve been wearing it nonstop ever since.
I decided to pair it with (what else?) leather leggings, because I really don’t wear those often enough. (Sarcasm.) I wasn’t feeling preppy that day and those were just the right tool to tone down the prep of the shirt. I also borrowed my roommate Kate’s awesome plaid coat from BB Dakota (which now that I think about it, I totally didn’t ask before borrowing. Sorry, Kate!!)
I guess there are worse things I could have worn in the windy city that day. But perhaps I should invest in a nice 80’s windbreaker? Thoughts?
